Motherhood Affirmations

Whether you’re pregnant or a new mom, motherhood affirmations can help create deep connection with your baby and support your infant to develop positive beliefs.

The Power of Affirmations For Mothers

Among all the jobs in the world, whether you’re getting paid for performing it or not, motherhood seems to be the one that demands the highest degree of multi-tasking. Whether you work full-time or part-time to make a contribution to the family coffers, every mom is undoubtedly left with not much "ME" time daily. Getting the kids ready for school, helping them with their homework, doing the menu, organizing bills that need to be paid, cleaning house and doing the laundry makes every mom wish a day had 30 hours instead of 24.

Despite tireless efforts to fulfill each need that goes into Mom’s daily list of "to-dos", there are still so many mothers who feel they are not performing the motherhood role up to par and are overwhelmed by guilt feelings of being inadequate moms. They lose sight of the true worth and value of unmatched efforts they put in at performing the most demanding job in the world. They begin to see themselves as insignificant, disorganized and messed-up scatterbrains devoid of all confidence and enthusiasm necessary to deliver what they’re supposed to do as wives and mothers.

If you feel you are standing somewhere along this pattern of negative self-worth, it is about time you believe and assure yourself that YOU are actually a strong pillar and a solid foundation to the family structure. In fact, you are often the unrecognized driving force that performs valuable core functions to ensure the smooth flow of daily family pursuits. Look at your immediate surroundings and see your spouse go to work refreshed and ready to face the daily corporate grind with renewed enthusiasm. Watch your children walk to school fully equipped with well-prepared lunch packs and impressive homework, confident to partake in whatever new challenges school may demand from them each day. They all walk prepared, proud and confident because of you, and you have to praise yourself for that.

By commending yourself and using positive affirmations, you elevate self-worth and start to feel good about yourself. Think of how you’ve made life easier for your loved ones. Be confident and know that deep in their hearts, they are all truly grateful for your presence, even if the gratitude is often left unsaid.

Some people are simply and naturally positive and always see the glass half full rather that half empty. But for others who are often weighed down and besieged by the complexities of balancing family, work and social life, positive affirmation works wonders at motivating one to persist with vigor and enthusiasm. Put extra effort at consciously training your mind to dwell on these affirmations. You will be surprised at how self encouragement makes all work easy, brings eagerness to every deed you perform, and annihilates all toxic untruths and negative forces that had been pulling you down.

Consider these examples of positive affirmation and allow your list to grow as you discover that there are so many things to like about yourself:

I am a good wife to my spouse and a great mother to my children.

As I attend to every individual need of my spouse and children, a bond of trust continues to strengthen between them and myself.

No matter how busy I am with other things, I am setting aside exclusive time for my spouse and my children and I know that they are happy with that.

In addition to attending to their individual needs, helping out to provide for our needs is a commendable effort I am contributing to the family.

My presence and my contribution to a healthy and happy atmosphere at home make it a sanctuary for every member to find rest and comfort in every end of the day.

Adapt your positive affirmations to fulfill your specific need for reinforcement. Do not formulate affirmations that are unrealistic. Be honest with yourself, there is a lot to be happy about even in the smallest of things. In the end, you will realize that it doesn’t really take much to be happy about yourself. Sometimes, it just takes as little as a simple perspective shift.
